Alaska
Since 2006 I have been visiting a different place in Alaska each year, and hope to continue doing so.
2006: Wrangel/St Elias NP, Seward, and Valdez
2007: Homer and Kachemak Bay State Park
There was a late summer heat wave in Sept 2008 so I decided it was time to check out the north side of Mt Adams. Forest Road 23 had recently been repaired after being out-of-service for almost two years, so it was a much shorter hike now.
Mt. Adams while hiking up the Killen Creek trail. High Camp is on top of the hill in the middle of the picture.
Mt. Rainer.
Camp at Foggy Flats
Mt Adams and Rainier in the morning.

Rocky terrain around the creeks that drain Lava and Lyman Glaciers.
Mt. Adams from near Devils Garden.

Mt Adams closeup from Devils Garden. I think that is still the Lyman Glacier.
Looking southeast towards Avalanche Valley.
Where the wilderness and national forest end.
