Alaska
Since 2006 I have been visiting a different place in Alaska each year, and hope to continue doing so.
2006: Wrangel/St Elias NP, Seward, and Valdez
2007: Homer and Kachemak Bay State Park
After coming down from Little Annapurna, we decided to move camp a short distance to the ridge that separates Inspiration and Perfection Lakes. It was only about a half hour away, and mostly downhill. This camp had the worst mosquitoes of the trip, but only at certain times, and sometimes you could move 50 feet and they wouldn't be as bad.

My tent spot overlooked Perfection Lake with McClellan Peak beyond.

The mountain goats continued to join us
And had no problem with steep snow slopes
Inspiration Lake from near camp. Our previous camp was just up and over the ridge above the lake.
Descent to Inspiration Lake. The trail goes down the gully in the upper part of the picture, and if you look closely, you can see where it traverses the top of the snow slope and then descends on the left of the snow.
