Green Point Mountain is really just a high point on a ridge, not much of a mountain really. But at about 4750', it is a high point and there is a gravel viewing point next to the trail, making for a great camping spot if you carry your water in.
I came up the Wyeth Trail and watered up at North Lake, less than 2 miles from the summit. It's 4500 feet up over 7 miles to get there this way.
Camp with Rainy Lake and Mt. Defiance behind
Thunderstorms were a minor threat this day and the clouds clustered around Mt Hood cleared away as sunset approached
Mt Adams was surrounded by wildfire smoke
Sunrise is what this place is all about
Adams, Definance, and Rainy Lake about a half hour before sunrise
The big guy peaks over the horizon
