Colorado Grenadier Mountains

The Grenadiers are a sub-range of the San Juan Mountains in southwest Colorado. Our trailhead was above the Animas River valley, which we hiked down into to get to the start of these mountains. My backpacking partner, Doug Moore, who did so much hiking with me when I lived in California, came out to Colorado for this trip in 1999.
