India 1997

In 1997 I visited India for about five weeks, focusing on southern India, bus passing up through the west and north on the way to Nepal. I had spent six months in India three years earlier, most of it working in the town of Dehra Dun. My initial experience with the Indian holiday of Holi, explained below, as well as my visit to the Taj Majal, were on the first visit. Everything else is the second one in 1997.
