Indonesia 1996

Indonesia was where I started my 11 month round-the-world (RTW) in July of 1996. I spent two months in the country, which was the legal limit for a single visa. I bought a one-way ticket from Los Angeles to Jakarta, and had one small carry-on backpack as luggage. You just don't need much stuff in the tropics, and it is much cheaper to buy it there than at home.
