Kachemak Bay State Park
Kenai Peninsula, Alaska
This was trip two to Alaska in my effort to visit this amazing state every year, following my 2006 trip. This trip was far less ambitious than the trip in 2006, but realizing that each trip does not need to be multi-week and flown in is what makes annual trips possible for me.
The Kenai Peninsula is south of Anchorage and is one of the more accessible parts of the state. Kachemak Bay is at the south end of the peninsula, and the state park is on the east side of the bay, while the town of Homer is on the other side.
