Alaska
Since 2006 I have been visiting a different place in Alaska each year, and hope to continue doing so.
2006: Wrangel/St Elias NP, Seward, and Valdez
2007: Homer and Kachemak Bay State Park
The Laurel Highlands constitute a ridge that is about 75 miles long in southcentral Pennsylvania, maybe an hour from Pittsburgh. There is a trail it's entire length. There are state parks at either end and a variety of land owners in between. There are also fixed camp locations. I did a single overnight in this lush area in June of 2005.
