New River Gorge National Park

This park is in the southern part of West Virginia, and is maybe a five hour drive from DC. I wanted to visit it before I moved out west, and this was the trip in the fall of 2006. This visit was to the Glade Creek area. normally you can drive in to this campground, but the road was damaged and had not been fixed for a few years, so it was a five mile walk down a gravel road to a nice campground that saw few visitors. I also did a nice dayhike up Glade Creek.
