From Hurricane Ridge, there is a narrow and very curvy dirt road that goes for 8 miles to the Obstruction Peak trailhead at 6400 feet. I thought it would be 1700 feet downhill for 3.5 miles but then saw that my trail went up and then followed the Lillian Ridge for two miles before even starting the descent.

Looking down into Grand Valley

Passing by Grand Lake where I would spend my last night

Starting the gradual climb to Grand Pass, and the clouds have cleared

A nice tarn higher up

Looking up at Grand Pass, virtually the same altitude as Obstruction Peak

From Grand Pass - where I had just come from

Where I'm heading - the valley in the center right

Looking at my trail down - this side of Grand Pass is exceedingly steep, losing over 2000 feet in 1.8 miles

The view from near that same tarn

What I had just come down

I took no photos during the long steep descent, here is the sign at the welcome bottom - where I start uphill again
