Alaska
Since 2006 I have been visiting a different place in Alaska each year, and hope to continue doing so.
2006: Wrangel/St Elias NP, Seward, and Valdez
2007: Homer and Kachemak Bay State Park
This trip is often done in five days. My first and last days were short, and I added one day to visit the Tapto Lakes above Whatcom Pass. I had spectacular weather for the first couple of days, and then it was cloudy for a few. It rained for one day, the day I descended from Whatcom Pass. This trip was done the third week of August in 2007. For those familiar with the area, my campsites were: Hannegan Camp, Copper Lake, Bear Creek, Whatcom Pass, Tapto Lakes, and Copper Creek.
