Alaska
Since 2006 I have been visiting a different place in Alaska each year, and hope to continue doing so.
2006: Wrangel/St Elias NP, Seward, and Valdez
2007: Homer and Kachemak Bay State Park
The hike from Solduc Trailhead to the Lunch Lake near the High Divide is about 3000 feet up in 9 miles.
A waterfall near the trailhead
A restored historic shelter next to the trail
Along the trail
Deer Lake, about half way up
The side trail to campsites just above Deer Lake
Fall colors are starting to show in mid-September
A tarn farther up the trail, the High Divide is beyond
The trail passes right by some creeks and the Potholes
There were many, many sweet, sweet blueberries (or are they huckleberries?) along the trail
Looking southeast from the High Divide
The trail follows the High Divide as it approaches the turnoff to Seven Lakes Basin
