Alaska
Since 2006 I have been visiting a different place in Alaska each year, and hope to continue doing so.
2006: Wrangel/St Elias NP, Seward, and Valdez
2007: Homer and Kachemak Bay State Park
Sleeping Beauty is a ridge west of Mt Adams that looks like a sleeping person from certain directions. It was once the site of a lookout tower. With a raging heat wave going on down low, I decided to camp on the summit, figuring that a place that was home to a lookout would have enough space. The trail is steep, gaining 1400 feet in 1.4 miles. I left at 6:30pm and got up in 45 minutes. Mostly it's a hike in the forest, but the top section is a trail constructed against steep rock. Most of the shots are of the sunset and Mt Adams, with some of a mountain goat that stopped by.
