Alaska
Since 2006 I have been visiting a different place in Alaska each year, and hope to continue doing so.
2006: Wrangel/St Elias NP, Seward, and Valdez
2007: Homer and Kachemak Bay State Park
Temple Basin is another dayhike handy from Arthurs Pass Village. A rough dirt road and trail leads up about 1500 feet to the basin, where there is a rustic ski area. There are a number of buildings for people to stay in. Skiers must hike up there in the winter, but there is a lift of sorts for their gear.
